Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Computed Tomography (CT) Technologist to join our Imaging Services team at Vassar Brothers Medical Center. As a CT Technologist, you will be responsible for producing high-quality CT images of patients, ensuring accurate diagnoses, and providing exceptional patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate CT scanners to produce high-quality images of patients
  • Verify patient identification and correlate exam requests with physician orders
  • Position patients for procedures, adjust equipment, and perform all patient procedures in a professional and timely manner
  • Notify waiting patients of unanticipated delays and provide status updates
  • Perform quality control measures to ensure optimal image quality
  • Compare patient images and reports prior to imaging current studies
  • Perform critiques of every exam for completeness and correct labeling
  • Review non-routine studies prior to releasing patients to avoid unnecessary callbacks
  • Perform IV cannulation and i-Stat testing as needed
  • Solve job-related problems and make necessary adjustments or notify the department manager
  • Ensure accurate and timely completion of scheduled and unscheduled work
  • Interact and communicate with physicians, support staff, and other healthcare professionals
Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited program in Radiologic Technology
  • Recommended minimum of 1-2 years previous CT scan experience
  • Certified by the American Registry of Radiologic Technology; New York State License in Radiologic Technology
Working Conditions

This position requires manual skills, motor coordination, and finger dexterity. There is some occupational risk, and the physical effort is medium to heavy, with the ability to exert up to 35 pounds of force.
