About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Credentialing Specialist to join our team at the University of California, Irvine. As a key member of our Medical Staff Administration Department, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our credentialing and privileging processes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate the operational processes and ongoing credentialing, privileging, and medical staff governance functions of the Medical Staff Administration Department.
  • Review, analyze, and follow up on credentialing and privileging applications, ensuring compliance with organizational policies and accrediting and regulatory standards.
  • Act as a liaison between department senior management and the medical staff, providing expert guidance and support as needed.
  • Develop and implement policies, processes, and procedures to ensure efficient and effective credentialing and privileging operations.
  • Collaborate with other departments and stakeholders to ensure seamless integration of credentialing and privileging processes.
Requirements
  • Minimum of five years of experience in medical staff credentialing and privileging, with expertise in specific areas such as FPPE/proctoring processes and procedures.
  • Advanced knowledge of Joint Commission, CMS Conditions of Participations, and NCQA and Title 22 accreditation standards and regulations.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with medical staff, department senior management, and other stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently, with minimal supervision, and as part of a team to achieve departmental goals and objectives.
  • Advanced analytical, critical thinking, organizational, and project management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage competing priorities.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Minimum of two years of meeting management experience.
  • Knowledge of university and medical center organizations, policies, procedures, and forms.
  • Experience with MD-Staff Credentialing Database Software.
