The City of New York is seeking a highly skilled District Supervisor to join our team in the Bureau of Water and Sewer Operations. As a District Supervisor, you will be responsible for supervising a repair and maintenance facility within the Division of Field Operations.
Key Responsibilities- Supervise work crews and their supervisors in the construction, maintenance, or repair of water supply distribution systems, and/or the sewage and drainage collection systems.
- Manage facility operations, including scheduling work and equipment, estimating material and labor requirements, and arranging for repair, maintenance, and replacement of assigned equipment.
- Investigate complaints relating to water supply, sewage, and drainage systems, and maintain records of Department-related activities.
- Enforce applicable rules, regulations, and procedures, and ensure compliance with the Administrative Code and other relevant laws and regulations.
- Five years of full-time experience in the construction, repair, or maintenance of sewer and drainage systems and/or water supply systems, including one year in a supervisor capacity.
- Equivalent experience may be considered.
- Must obtain a NYSDOH Class D water distribution operator license within one year of employment and maintain it throughout employment.
- Must obtain all required Certificates of Fitness issued by the New York City Fire Department within one year of employment and maintain them throughout employment.
