Urologist - Patient Care Specialist

As a Urologist at Nashville General Hospital, you will be responsible for conducting comprehensive evaluations and assessments of patients with urological conditions. You will develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on patient needs and medical history. Your expertise will include performing urological procedures and surgeries, including minimally invasive techniques. You will interpret diagnostic tests, such as ultrasounds, CT scans, and urodynamic studies. Additionally, you will manage chronic urological conditions, including prostate cancer, kidney stones, urinary incontinence, and benign prostatic hyperplasia. You will provide pre-operative and post-operative care, including patient education on self-care and recovery.
Collaboration and Communication
You will work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals, including nurses, radiologists, and oncologists, to ensure comprehensive patient care. You will communicate effectively with patients and their families about diagnoses, treatment options, and procedures. You will participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and case discussions to optimize patient outcomes.
Clinical Research and Education
You will engage in clinical research and contribute to advancements in urological care. You will stay current with the latest research, techniques, and advancements in urology. You will educate and mentor medical residents, fellows, and other healthcare professionals.
Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need to have a Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) degree. You will have completed an accredited residency in Internal Medicine and fellowship in Urology. You will be board-certified or board-eligible in Urology. A minimum of 2 years of experience in urology is preferred, but new graduates with exceptional training will be considered. You will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, strong clinical and diagnostic skills, and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. You will be proficient in performing urological procedures and surgeries. A compassionate and patient-centered approach to care with a commitment to improving our community's health is essential.
