Job Title: Associate Attorney

We are seeking a highly skilled Associate Attorney to join our team at the New York State Homes and Community Renewal (HCR). As a key member of our legal team, you will play a critical role in representing the agency in complex construction and permanent lending and mortgage re-financing of multi-family affordable housing.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a portfolio of active projects in need of refinancing, workouts, and/or restricting, as well as finance and development projects. You will conduct document review for closing, assist program staff in developing and implementing enforcement policy, and supervise attorneys and/or legal staff. Additionally, you may work on confidential material and assist with the implementation of policies and procedures related to various funding sources.

Responsibilities:

Requirements:
  • Admission to the New York State Bar.
  • Four years of experience in the practice of law.
  • Additional skills and experience in public policy, administration, real estate, finance, procurement, and NYS Freedom of Information Act are beneficial.
