About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Category Manager IV to join our team at Duquesne Light Company. As a key member of our procurement team, you will be responsible for developing and executing category plans for the strategic sourcing of various spend categories.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement multi-year category sourcing strategies to generate value for the company.
  • Lead cross-functional strategic sourcing teams to leverage Duquesne Light Company's services and materials spend.
  • Analyze spend data to identify opportunities to increase spend with diverse suppliers.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders to understand current and future business needs.
  • Drive a measurable reduction in year-over-year total cost of ownership for assigned categories.
  • Administer the RFP process to completion.
  • Manage supplier qualification, contract development, and implementation.
  • Conduct regular reviews of supplier scorecards and operational metrics.
  • Leverage e-sourcing and spend analysis tools to drive incremental year-over-year cost savings.
  • Provide external industry benchmarking to assess strategy and solutions.
  • Drive process improvements to create efficiencies in sourcing procedures.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or Finance.
  • Master's degree preferred.
  • Five or more years of experience in sourcing various corporate services.
  • Advanced knowledge of contract terms and conditions.
  • Exceptional ability to engage cross-functional teams and influence decision-making processes.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Strong knowledge of the strategic sourcing process.
  • Strong influencing, project management, and change management skills.
  • Excellent teamwork skills.
  • Must be able to work within all functions and levels of an organization.
  • Experience in increasing supplier diversity spend.
  • ERP system experience: Maximo experience strongly preferred.
  • Familiarity with the Power Advocate Energy Intelligence Platform or web-based tools, such as e-Sourcing, Spend Analytics, Contract Management.

Travel and Work Arrangements

Periodic travel to service area facilities and job sites may be required. External travel is expected to be less than 10%.

Primary focus is on daily deliverables, outputs, and reporting. Accountable for managing one's own time and workflow but may be leading projects or project steps. Work is typically complex in nature, requiring the incumbent to draw on previous knowledge to perform role.

Decision impact: problems and issues faced are complex. Draws on past experience on a regular basis to solve problems and take new perspectives on existing solutions. Accountable for direct level of reasoning and decision-making.

Hybrid work model: position follows our hybrid work model, with a minimum of two days working in the office and the remaining days working remotely.

Storm roles: all non-union employees will serve in storm roles as appropriate to their role and skillset.

Data governance: utilize data to make business decisions as appropriate for the position, support data stewardship activities, and partner with IT on underlying data needs.
