Job Summary

The Orthopedic APP plays a vital role in the multidisciplinary healthcare team, working collaboratively to provide exceptional patient care. This position requires a strong foundation in orthopedic medicine, with a focus on adult inpatient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Obtain patient health histories and conduct thorough physical examinations.
  • Document findings, noting pertinent normal and abnormal findings.
  • Order and interpret diagnostic and laboratory tests as needed.
  • Explain procedures to patients, families, and healthcare staff.
  • Perform therapeutic or diagnostic procedures based on patient needs.
  • Develop and implement treatment plans in collaboration with supervising physicians.
  • Document patient progress and outcomes.
  • Prescribe medications as authorized by NC licensure.
  • Assess patient needs and provide emergency interventions as necessary.
  • Provide family-centered care, communicating with families about patient needs.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an ARC-accredited Physician Assistant Program or an accredited MSN or DNP Acute Care Nurse Practitioner Program for adults.
  • Current unrestricted medical license issued by NCMB with authorization to practice as a PA or NP.
  • Federal and State DEA prescriptive authorization.
  • Strongly prefer candidate with 1+ year Orthopedic APP experience.
Work Environment

This is a full-time overnight position, working 5:00 pm-5:00 am, Monday through Friday.
