Emergency Medicine Service Chief Physician

Job Summary
The Chief of the Emergency Medicine Service is a critical leadership position that requires a skilled and experienced physician to oversee the clinical and administrative functions of the Emergency Department. As a key member of the Medical Center team, the incumbent will be responsible for ensuring the highest quality patient care, while also driving innovation and improvement in the department.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide clinical leadership and oversight to staff physicians and other healthcare professionals in the Emergency Department.
- Develop and implement strategies to improve patient outcomes, reduce wait times, and enhance the overall patient experience.
- Collaborate with other departments and stakeholders to ensure seamless communication and coordination of care.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of policies and procedures.
- Serve as a liaison between the Emergency Medicine Section and other VA specialty sections, as well as with external partners and stakeholders.
Requirements
- Must be a board-certified physician with experience in emergency medicine.
- Must have strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- Must be proficient in written and spoken English.
- Must be able to pass a background investigation and obtain a security clearance.
