Key Responsibilities- Prepare for surgical procedures by conducting thorough patient assessments and reviewing relevant medical documentation.
- Develop and implement patient-specific care plans in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team, ensuring compliance with policies and standards.
- Ensure all necessary surgical supplies and instruments are ready and the operating room is appropriately set up.
- Document all surgical procedures accurately and in a timely manner, adhering to organizational policies.
- Maintain aseptic technique and participate in the counting of surgical instruments and materials.
- Assist in the turnover of the operating room between cases, including restocking and cleaning duties.
- Participate in the training and orientation of new surgical staff and students as required.
Minimum Education: Associate's Degree in Nursing
Preferred Education: Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
Minimum Experience: One year of experience in an operating room setting
Preferred Experience: One year in a Level 1 trauma operating room
Required Licenses/Certifications: Current RN license in the state of practice, BLS certification, ACLS certification
Weekly Hours: 36 hours
On-Call Requirement: Yes
