REPORTS TO : Principal

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT :
  1. Compensation and benefits will align with the approved compensation framework.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
  1. Comprehend and assist in enforcing school policies, administrative regulations, and Board of Education guidelines.
  2. Engage in the effective operation of the school and district, which includes collaboration through meetings, discussions, and committee roles.
  3. Refrain from accepting additional employment that may hinder the effective performance of teaching responsibilities.
  4. Adhere to the standards of professional and personal conduct as outlined in the Code of Ethics.
  5. Follow the approved curriculum and instructional materials sanctioned by the State Board of Education and the local Board of Education.
  6. Promote student engagement through teaching, emphasizing values such as citizenship, self-discipline, morality, and patriotism.
  7. Arrive for duty at least fifteen minutes prior to the start of school and remain at least fifteen minutes after the school day concludes.
  8. Conduct classes as assigned in designated locations and times.
  9. Create and sustain a classroom atmosphere conducive to effective learning, tailored to the interests and maturity of students.
  10. Establish and uphold appropriate classroom discipline and assist in maintaining discipline throughout the school.
  11. Prepare for assigned classes and provide written evidence of preparation upon request from the principal.
  12. Maintain accurate and complete records as required by law, board policy, and administrative regulations.
  13. Regularly assess student progress in accordance with established procedures.
  14. Seek specialist assistance as necessary and make appropriate referrals.
  15. Take necessary precautions to ensure student safety and protect all educational resources.
  16. Make reasonable provisions to be available to students and parents for educational purposes outside of instructional hours.
  17. Collaborate with colleagues in planning school activities, instructional goals, and methodologies.
  18. Assist in the selection of educational materials and resources.
  19. Participate in extracurricular activities as mutually agreed upon with faculty and administration.
  20. Attend and actively participate in faculty meetings.
  21. Foster a professional and cooperative relationship with parents and the community.
  22. Promote positive public relations for the school and district.
  23. Continuously enhance professional competence.
  24. Perform additional related duties as necessary for the safe and effective operation of the school as requested by the principal.
  25. Assume other reasonable and equitable job-related responsibilities as assigned by the immediate supervisor.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES :
  1. Understanding of child development and characteristics of the assigned age group.
  2. Familiarity with the prescribed curriculum.
  3. Awareness of current educational research.
  4. Basic knowledge of current technology.
  5. Understanding of diverse learning styles and proficiency in employing varied teaching methods.
  6. Effective oral and written communication skills with students, parents, and others.
  7. Ability to plan and implement activities for optimal effectiveness.
  8. Capability to assess student achievement levels, analyze test results, and recommend actions for improvement.
  9. Ability to maintain appropriate supervision to ensure a safe and orderly learning environment.
  10. Ability to collaborate effectively with peers, administrators, and others.
  11. Physical and emotional capacity to perform required tasks in a dynamic work environment.
EVALUATION : Performance will be assessed in accordance with the Board's evaluation policy.
