About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Superintendent to lead our field teams on ground-up public works projects in Watsonville and San Jose. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for supervising the timely and cost-effective installation of contracted work, developing project schedules, and controlling field costs.

Responsibilities
  • Project Management: Supervise the installation of contracted work, develop project schedules, and plan and organize project work to ensure all work is completed in accordance with contract documents.
  • Cost Control: Control field costs for company and subcontract work, supervise field workforce to ensure all work is completed in the most cost-efficient manner, and schedule and monitor field productivity.
  • Safety Management: Implement safety programs, conduct regular safety inspections, and ensure all working conditions and work habits are in compliance with company, contract, and government standards.
  • Quality Control: Implement the company's quality control policies and procedures, and participate in the project management functions.
  • Marketing and Business Development: Participate in marketing proposals and presentations, and assist in the resolution of scope conflicts.
Requirements
  • Education: High School Diploma (additional experience a plus)
  • Experience: 5+ years of commercial construction experience at a General Contractor, with a minimum of 3 years of experience as a Superintendent supervising project teams.
  • Skills: Advanced understanding of construction scheduling, cost control, and ability to control and supervise large groups, as well as strong computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite, Project Management (Procore or similar), and scheduling software (P6 or similar).
  • Public Works Experience: Extensive experience with public works projects, with ground-up project experience on projects in the $10-20+ million range.
