Position:
Clinical Laboratory Specialist

Location:
Albany, NY

Employment Type:
Contract - 13 Weeks

Key Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate workflow by aligning computer orders with specimen labels, sorting samples, and confirming delivery of specimens.
  • Ensure quality outcomes by conducting standards and controls, and performing routine maintenance to verify equipment functionality.
  • Act as a technical resource by engaging in staff training and development.
  • Recognize and report abnormal patient conditions by notifying supervisory staff.
  • Assess the presence or concentration of substances in patients' systems.
  • Collect patient data to perform tests, including demographics and medical history.
  • Analyze blood samples for the presence of drugs or alcohol.

Qualifications:
  • A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience is required.
  • Valid New York State License is mandatory.
  • MLT Certification is essential.
  • BLS Certification is required.
  • Proof of Covid vaccination is necessary.
  • Willingness to travel is expected.

Work Schedule:
  • 40 Hours per Week
  • Day Shift
  • 5 days a week, 8 hours per day
  • Typical hours: 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM

Compensation:
$48.00 per hour

Healthcare Environment:
  • Hospital setting

Experience Required:
Minimum of 2 years as a Medical Lab Technician

Licenses/Certifications:
  • New York State License (Required)
  • BLS Certification (Required)
  • MLT Certification (Required)
