Role Responsibilities
In this position, reporting to the Retail Manager, you will be responsible for:

  • Listening to customers and prioritizing their satisfaction.
  • Responding to inquiries and anticipating the needs of management and colleagues.
  • Processing incoming inventory and entering data into the POS system.
  • Managing web, email, and phone sales efficiently.
  • Assisting in maintaining the webshop to meet gallery standards.
  • Opening and closing the Design Store, handling cash and banking in accordance with established procedures.
  • Monitoring stationery supplies to ensure availability.
  • Engaging with customers through the Design Store's social media platforms, representing our Gallery brand effectively.
  • Tracking revenue and providing timely reports on daily transactions and sales performance.
  • Completing additional tasks as assigned by the Team Leader or Operations Manager.
  • Contributing to achieving targets and enhancing the retail operations of the Gallery.

Qualifications and Skills
The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Up to one year of experience in a similar retail setting.
  • Familiarity with visual arts, Māori art, or Māori culture.
  • Strong literacy and numeracy skills.
  • Experience with POS systems and online sales platforms, preferably Shopify, Excel, Teams, and Instagram.
  • A positive and friendly demeanor when interacting with customers, demonstrating hospitality and informative service.
