Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Permit Technician to join our team at the City of Doraville. As a Permit Technician, you will be responsible for processing permit applications, managing inspections, and providing excellent customer service to the public.

Key Responsibilities
  • Process permit applications and ensure compliance with city regulations
  • Manage inspections for active construction projects
  • Provide information and assistance to the public regarding permits and licensing
  • Verify customer identification and handle confidential files
  • Process payments and maintain accurate records
  • Assist the City Planner and Planning Department as needed
Requirements
  • Associate's degree in planning, public policy, engineering, or a related field
  • At least one year of experience in customer service or clerical work
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, including OneDrive
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment background investigation
  • Possess a valid Georgia driver's license
Preferred Qualifications
  • Conversational or fluent in Spanish, Korean, Mandarin, or Bangla
  • Familiarity with the International Building Code (IBC) and International Residential Code (IRC)
  • Prior experience in the public sector
