Additionally, the position entails verifying insurance benefits and coverage for both inpatient and outpatient services, addressing customer inquiries, and resolving concerns using established protocols. Core Responsibilities:
- Quality and Safety: Respond to reservation requests from healthcare providers and facilitate pre-admission arrangements. Collect and input patient information into the registration system, ensuring accuracy and compliance with third-party payer requirements. Review physician orders to guide patients through the necessary procedures. Maintain confidentiality of patient data in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
- Customer Service: Greet all visitors with professionalism and positivity. Manage incoming calls and assist patients with their inquiries. Foster cooperative relationships with management, patients, and healthcare professionals, while maintaining a professional appearance in line with departmental standards.
- Financial Management: Proactively collect estimated self-pay balances from patients, aiming for early resolution. Conduct financial evaluations to assess patients' ability to cover non-covered charges and provide information on financial assistance programs. Document all interactions and collection efforts accurately.
- General Duties: Adhere to work schedules and attend departmental meetings as required. Complete mandatory training and other assigned tasks as necessary.
- Education: High School Diploma or GED; Associate's degree preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 1 year in a healthcare or corporate environment.
- Skills: Proficient in computer/data entry, effective communication, problem-solving, and familiarity with patient registration systems. Experience with Microsoft Office Suite and Epic software is advantageous.
