Job Description:

Position Summary: As a Peer Support Specialist - Recovery Coach, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals in achieving their recovery goals. You will work closely with clients to understand their needs, provide guidance, and connect them with resources that promote healthy living.

Responsibilities:

  • Working Knowledge: Develop a working knowledge of training approaches and treatment methods to effectively support clients.
  • Culture Competence: Understand the impact of culture on the manifestations of health, mental health, and substance abuse to provide culturally sensitive support.
  • Diagnosis and Treatment: Possess knowledge of diagnosis and treatment of health, mental health, and substance use disorders among pregnant and postpartum women.

Qualifications:

Education: High school diploma or equivalent, or at least 21 years of age.

Skill Set: Organizational, oral, and written communication skills, with a high level of familiarity with Microsoft Office.

Physical Demands: Visual acuity, hearing, and talking necessary for job duties. Work is light with walking, standing, and sitting, requiring manual dexterity for word processing and clerical duties.

Mandatory Requirements:

  • Policy Adherence: Adhere to Communicare KY policies and procedures.
  • Training and Education: Attend mandatory in-services and other training/educational programs as required.
