Elevate Patient Financial Solutions is seeking a dedicated Healthcare Financial Advocate. This role is essential in assisting patients who lack insurance coverage by connecting them with programs designed to alleviate their medical expenses.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Assess uninsured patients to determine eligibility for various medical assistance programs at federal, state, and local levels.
  • Facilitate the completion of necessary applications and ensure follow-up until approval is achieved.
  • Maintain precise and timely documentation in relevant company systems and hospital databases for all cases managed.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service consistently.
  • Engage in ongoing training to enhance skills and knowledge relevant to patient interactions and case management.
  • Manage a designated workload of patient accounts effectively.
  • Collaborate with hospital personnel, including case managers, social workers, and financial counselors.
  • Handle incoming calls and make outbound communications, ensuring all paperwork for Medicaid enrollment and renewals is tracked and submitted appropriately.
  • Maintain regular contact with applicants and pertinent government agencies, utilizing phone communication as needed.
  • Assist applicants in gathering necessary documentation and coordinating appointments, including transportation if required.
  • Request home visits when necessary to collect documentation.
  • Inform clients promptly regarding the status of their coverage applications, including approvals and denials.
  • Participate in additional training to stay informed about evolving regulations related to government programs.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:

  • Some college coursework is preferred.
  • Experience in a hospital or medical office setting is advantageous.
  • Ability to adapt to changing processes, technology, and government regulations.
  • Experience working with state and federal assistance programs.
  • Strong critical thinking abilities.
  • Capability to navigate hospital environments and patient areas.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and Outlook.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills with diverse individuals.
  • Ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Remote and hybrid roles require a reliable home internet connection that meets company standards.
