The Environmental Health Hazard Assessment Office is seeking a highly skilled Senior Legal Analyst to join our team. As a Senior Legal Analyst, you will play a critical role in supporting the Office's mission to protect public health and the environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Independently summarize, organize, and index legal opinions, testimony, depositions, documentary material from interrogatory material, and abstracts;
  • Research legislative histories;
  • Gather factual information and perform complex legal research to assist attorneys in determining appropriate action;
  • Prepare documents for opening and closing files for internal administrative purposes;
  • Prepare correspondence and reports;
  • Assist in preparing drafts of pleadings and responsiveness to Public Records Act requests and discovery;
  • Maintain liaison and exchanges legal and factual information with other legal and technical staff in the Office and within CalEPA.

Requirements

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills;
  • Excellent research and writing skills;
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team;
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.

Working Conditions

This is a full-time position. The selected candidate will be required to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines. The position requires strong organizational and time management skills, as well as the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
