About the Role

The Sports Coordinator is a key member of our team at i9 Sports - Marin/SW Sonoma County, CA, responsible for delivering an exceptional sports experience for our players and coaches. This role requires building strong relationships with our community, ensuring the instructional aspects of our program are delivered, and providing hands-on support to our coaches.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coach Development: Empower volunteer coaches to lead practice sessions, focusing on fundamentals, skill development, and fun.
  • Sportsmanship and Values: Teach and demonstrate core concepts, including sportsmanship values, to promote a positive and inclusive environment.
  • Game Day Operations: Supervise the overall operation of designated sports on game day, ensuring a smooth and enjoyable experience for all participants.
  • Customer Service: Positively engage with kids and parents, providing exceptional customer service skills and a positive attitude.
  • Refereeing and Support: Referee games and cross-train with other sports to assist as needed, ensuring a high level of support for our coaches and players.
Qualifications and Requirements
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with players, parents, and coaches.
  • Sport-Specific Knowledge: Sport-specific coaching experience and knowledge, with a strong understanding of youth sports development.
  • Problem-Solving and Safety: Highly motivated self-starter, able to work independently and solve problems, with a strong awareness of safety protocols.
  • Teamwork and Relationships: Positive attitude and strong ability to build professional relationships, with a focus on teamwork and collaboration.
  • Availability: Ability to work Saturdays, 7am-2pm, for the full duration of the season (7 weeks).
