Job Summary

Research Medical Center is seeking a skilled Registered Nurse RN Cardiac Rehab to join our team. As a Cardiac Rehab RN, you will provide safe and effective care to a diverse group of inpatient and outpatient cardiac patients.

Responsibilities

  • Perform comprehensive nursing assessments regarding the health status of the patient, following standards of care and disease-specific protocols.
  • Plan, implement, and evaluate patient care plans to optimize outcomes and maximize available resources.
  • Provide direct nursing care and supervise non-licensed nursing staff within the RN's scope of practice and in accordance with established policies.
  • Provide education and emotional support appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstance, and incorporate patient/family teaching into all aspects of nursing practice.

Requirements

  • Graduation from an accredited school of nursing with a BSN or equivalent.
  • Dysrhythmia recognition, pathophysiology of cardiovascular disease, cardiovascular/pulmonary assessment, basic knowledge of exercise physiology, and clinical exercise physiology preferred.
  • Cardiopulmonary assessment, computer skills, educational planning, and teaching skills; RN should have a holistic view of patient education; experience and skills with older adults are important.
  • BLS certification required.
  • Currently licensed as a registered professional nurse in the state(s) of practice and/or has an active compact license, in accordance with law and regulation.
  • Prefer ACSM certification at the Exercise Specialist level, Registered Clinical Exercise Physiologist, or ANA Cardiac Rehabilitation certification.
  • A minimum of 1-year experience in ICU, CCU, or other critical care nursing is required; a minimum of 1-year experience in Cardiac Rehabilitation is preferred.
