Job Summary

This is a full-time LPN position at Levine Children's Cabarrus Pediatrics, offering a sign-on bonus of $7,500. As a member of the care team, you will provide nursing services in an office setting, working to improve quality requirements, increase throughput, and enhance the patient experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide nursing care and arrange for the provision of appropriate care for patients, as pertinent to the scope of nursing practice and specialty of the office setting.
  • Accurately document all patient care and interactions in the patient medical record.
  • Participate in telephone triage, obtaining clinically appropriate data and symptoms from patients and advising and instructing them according to established protocols and/or orders from the provider.
  • Ensure that all ordered laboratory and diagnostic tests are tracked and logged, and that the provider is presented with all test results.
  • Pre-visit planning with the provider and care team, medication administration, including injections, and vital sign checks.
  • Assist with reviewing medication history and updating medication lists, and may assist with satisfaction of pertinent health maintenance requirements.
  • Assist providers during procedures and examinations, and perform instrument and room clean-up.
  • Utilize standard precautions and comply with Policies, Occupational Safety and Health Administration standards, Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments (CLIA) regulations, and The Joint Commission (TJC) standards.
  • Report patient conditions and reactions to the provider following procedures, medication administration, or treatments.
  • Assist with patient inquiries for prescription refills, appointment scheduling, and referral authorization as needed.
  • Participate in electronic documentation of care at the direction of the provider, and may enter orders in EMR (computerized physician order entry CPOE) per provider order.
  • Complete Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments (CLIA) approved waived laboratory tests and practice-specific diagnostic testing, including Point of Care testing for Hemoglobin A1C and other Point of Care testing as applicable.
  • Adhere to CLIA standards, perform Quality Control and maintenance for Point of Care in-office lab procedures, and perform venipuncture.
  • May be required to assist with collection of specimens of body fluids such as urine and blood for laboratory testing.
  • Complete lab requisitions and prepare specimens for pick-up.
  • Provide patients with Depart Summary and review at the end of the visit.
  • Responsible for all vaccine and pharmaceutical orders, including North Carolina Immunization Registry (NCIR) and South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control (SC DHEC) regulations, and monitoring inventory level of clinical supplies specific to the practice setting.
Requirements
  • Licensed Practical Nurse with current license to practice in NC or SC required.
  • Graduate of an Accredited School of practical nursing required.
  • Previous medical office experience preferred.
  • BLS required per policy guidelines.
