Job Title: Cardiac Sonographer

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Cardiac Sonographer to join our team at Wellstar Health System, Inc. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing cardiac imaging procedures, including adult, pediatric, transesophageal, and stress echocardiograms. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, be able to work independently, and possess a strong attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform cardiac imaging procedures, including adult, pediatric, transesophageal, and stress echocardiograms.
  • Measure and calculate data according to laboratory protocol.
  • Provide an oral summary of preliminary findings to the interpreting physician, if requested.
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of all patients in the Echo department.
  • Communicate effectively with patients and healthcare teams.
  • Perform other work-related duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent from an accredited program.
  • Graduate of a formal Diagnostic Medical Sonography program or an accredited Cardiovascular Technology program.
  • Minimum 1 year experience in echocardiography.
  • Registered Medical Sonographer (RMS) or Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) certification.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in a hospital or healthcare setting.
  • Knowledge of cardiac anatomy and pathology.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
