Position Overview:
This role is pivotal in orchestrating recruitment initiatives at universities and colleges within the Midwest region. The individual will collaborate closely with hiring managers and HR Business Partners to fulfill staffing requirements, act as a brand ambassador for J.B. Hunt on campuses, promote the company's compensation and benefits offerings, and provide guidance on salary and recruitment best practices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the candidate sourcing process and maintain a robust talent pipeline for entry-level positions.
- Initiate the requisition creation and approval workflow.
- Conduct interviews, evaluate candidates, and recommend graduates for suitable job openings.
- Advise hiring managers on compensation and suggest effective recruitment strategies that align with J.B. Hunt's objectives.
- Extend job offers and negotiate terms within established guidelines, subject to hiring manager approval.
- Plan and execute university and college recruitment events, including career fairs, advertising campaigns, and interview days.
- Implement diversity-focused recruitment initiatives across targeted educational institutions.
- Build and nurture relationships with students and universities to support the recruitment vision.
- Participate in staffing meetings to share insights on candidate engagement and recruitment progress; provide regular updates on recruitment activities, strategies, and outcomes to assist in workforce planning.
- Perform additional duties as required.
- Establish strong connections with internal stakeholders in the supported regions.
- Oversee the execution of pipeline and internship programs for designated locations.
- Facilitate discussions regarding talent reviews for campus hires and contribute to offer decisions.
- Willingness to travel to assigned campuses as needed, particularly during peak recruitment periods.
- Manage the university recruitment budget for the designated regions.
Qualifications:
Minimum Requirements:
- Associate's Degree in Business Administration, Communications, Psychology, or a related field; or a combination of relevant experience and education totaling at least 2 years.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Communications, Psychology, or a related field, along with 2-4 years of relevant experience.
- Experience in university recruitment.
- Strong discretion and confidentiality skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Excellent multitasking and attention to detail.
- Quick learner with the ability to grasp technical knowledge.
- Proficient in making timely decisions.
- Basic critical thinking and deductive reasoning abilities.
- Flexible to accommodate candidates' schedules.
- Strong interpersonal skills and active listening capabilities.
- Self-motivated with exceptional customer service skills.
- Understanding of the complete recruitment cycle.
Compensation:
Starting pay may vary based on skills, education, experience, geography, and other qualifications. This position may also be eligible for annual bonuses and incentives based on the company's performance metrics.
