This role is essential for delivering comprehensive patient care and related responsibilities as permitted by licensure and defined within relevant credentialing and privileging documentation.
The individual in this position will be responsible for:
- Providing exceptional patient care through proficient clinical practices.
- Educating patients, their families, and clinical staff regarding treatment options and care plans.
- Collaborating with other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
- Staying informed about the latest advancements in patient care and treatment methodologies.
This Advanced Practice Provider will work within the Trauma Services department at a recognized trauma center.
The primary responsibilities include:
- Conducting rounds with trauma patients across various inpatient units.
- Responding to trauma activations and participating in critical bedside procedures.
- Engaging in patient resuscitation efforts and contributing to research and quality improvement initiatives.
Trauma Services operates continuously, requiring flexibility in scheduling, including potential day, night, weekend, and holiday shifts. However, there is no on-call requirement for this position.
Qualifications:To excel in this role, candidates should possess:
- A current state license as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) or Physician Assistant.
- Eligibility for State Controlled Substance License II through V.
- Eligibility for Federal DEA Certificate II through V.
- BLS Certification for Healthcare Providers.
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
A Master's degree or higher is highly desirable, along with applicable certification from a recognized certifying body.
Relevant experience as determined by leadership is also preferred.
Physical Demands:The role requires:
- Visual acuity to read information and assess patient needs.
- Effective communication skills for interactions with patients and healthcare providers.
- Manual dexterity for operating medical equipment and performing documentation tasks.
- The ability to lift and move patients and equipment as necessary.
- Mobility to assist with patient transport and navigate various clinical environments.
