The State of South Carolina is seeking a highly motivated and dedicated individual to fill the position of Sex Offender Agent Trainee. As a member of the Department of Probation, Parole & Pardon, this role will play a critical part in ensuring public safety and providing support to individuals under supervision.
Key Responsibilities- Monitor and document the enforcement of sex offender conditions and laws.
- Understand and apply South Carolina Sex Offender Registry requirements and proximity limitations.
- Identify red flag behaviors associated with reoffending and determine risk levels.
- Monitor offender progress and provide support as needed.
- Collaborate with law enforcement agencies and other stakeholders to ensure public safety.
- Bachelor's degree with 15 semester hours in social or behavioral science courses.
- Associate's degree and 2 years of military or certified law enforcement experience.
- High school diploma and 4 years of military or certified law enforcement experience.
- C-1 law enforcement certification from the SC Criminal Justice Academy within 1 year of employment.
- Experience in law enforcement or a related field.
- Knowledge of sex offender laws and regulations.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
This role requires working in a fast-paced environment with frequent interactions with offenders, law enforcement agencies, and other stakeholders. The successful candidate must be able to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong focus on public safety and customer service.
