Role Overview

Arcadis is seeking a Senior Civil Engineer with water/wastewater experience to join our growing Resilience Water team. This position may report to our Buffalo, Syracuse, or Rochester office.

As a Senior Engineer, you will utilize your expertise and technical knowledge for design and construction to execute a variety of water and wastewater projects. You will also manage design teams and mentor junior engineers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead projects and clients in the planning, design, and construction of water/wastewater treatment plants, distribution/collection systems, and pump/lift stations, as well as creating construction documents, project specifications, and handling construction oversight/administration.
  • Manage a range of projects for various clients in the region, including managing budgets and delivery schedules for each assignment, and leading project teams to meet project deliverables.
  • Work directly with clients to determine needs and provide solutions.
  • Support the work of others and mentor junior-level engineers & design/drafting technical staff.
  • Coordinate multi-disciplined engineering teams.
  • Support the development of small to large design projects from inception to completion.
  • Ensure project compliance with all Arcadis practices and quality and safety standards.
  • Travel, as needed, for client meetings, project site visits, etc.

Qualifications & Experience

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil, Environmental, Mechanical, Chemical Engineering or related field.
  • 10 years of related industry experience in the water/wastewater field.

Key Skills and Attributes:

  • Flexible to work with different project teams present locally and across remote offices.
  • Self-motivated in improving team and personal performance.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Masters Degree in Engineering.
  • 15 years of water/wastewater industry-related experience.
  • PE License in New York and/or in other nearby states.
