Job Description

Okay Industries Inc is seeking a highly skilled Manufacturing Process Optimization Engineer to join our team in Berlin, CT. As a key member of our sustaining group, you will provide support to production operations for the achievement of our quality goals & objectives such as OTD, Scrap & Efficiency.

This role involves overseeing and optimizing manufacturing processes to ensure efficient production and high-quality products. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, provide technical expertise, and implement continuous improvement initiatives to drive operational excellence.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and Implement Manufacturing Strategies: Develop, validate, and implement manufacturing strategies and processes to optimize efficiency, reduce costs, and improve product quality.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with design engineers, quality engineers, and production personnel to ensure smooth production operations and timely delivery of products.
  • Root Cause Analysis and Corrective Action: Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective action(s) to resolve production issues and minimize downtime.
  • Manufacturing Documentation: Develop and maintain manufacturing documentation, including work instructions, drawings, 3D CAD models, process flow charts, visual standards, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Process Improvement Projects: Lead and participate in process improvement projects, utilizing Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies to identify and eliminate waste, improve productivity, and enhance product quality.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Manufacturing Process Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of manufacturing processes, including machining, assembly, and inspection.
  • Value-Add Technologies: Knowledge of value-add manufacturing technologies - secondary presses, welding, automation equipment, vision systems, grinders, etc.
  • Project Management: Strong project management skills, with the ability to plan, execute, and monitor projects to meet objectives and timelines.
  • Leadership and Communication: Strong leadership skills - ability to energize, motivate and inspire others. Excellent analytical, technical, reasoning, and problem-solving skills.
  • Continuous Improvement: Track record of continuous improvement and cost reductions.
  • CAD and ERP Systems: Experience with 3D CAD (Solidworks or Autodesk Inventor) and 2D CAD (AutoCAD). Good command of ANSI Y 14.5 Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing and experience with functional gaging techniques and tolerance interpretation.
Estimated Salary

$120,000 per year, based on industry standards and location.
