Senior Development Director of Fundraising

We are seeking a Senior Development Director to spearhead our fundraising initiatives and drive our mission forward. This role will be responsible for designing and implementing a comprehensive development strategy that enhances NCVC's funding footprint, particularly through private foundations and individual donors.

As a key member of our team, you will work closely with the Chief Executive Officer, Board of Directors, and program staff to advance the organization's fundraising goals and foster strong relationships with stakeholders. Your exceptional communication and interpersonal skills will enable you to build rapport with diverse stakeholders, both internally and externally.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute a strategic fundraising plan to diversify funding sources and increase revenue, with a focus on private foundations and individual giving.
  • Works with Center Directors and Senior Leadership to set goals and objectives for newly emerging programs or for expanding existing program funding.
  • Represents the organization to various audiences, including individual donors, corporate funders, policymakers, government agencies, advocacy, and victims' rights groups.
  • Collaborates with the Chief Communications Officer to ensure program deliverables are met and production deadlines/deliverables are on target.
  • Assists the Chief Executive Officer in identifying and securing diversified funding sources for the organization.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent level of experience, and training.
  • 5 to 10 years of progressive experience in nonprofit development, fundraising, or related fields, with a demonstrated track record of securing major gifts and grants. At least 3 years of supervisory experience in a leadership role
  • Proven expertise in cultivating and soliciting gifts from private foundations and individual donors.
  • Demonstrated understanding of fundraising principles, practices, and donor stewardship.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with diverse stakeholders, both internally and externally.
  • Experience in developing and managing budgets for fundraising initiatives.
  • Proficiency in fundraising software and donor management systems.

Salary: $80,000 - $110,000 per annum, depending on experience. We offer a generous benefits package, including health insurance, dental insurance, vision insurance, HRA and FSA programs, vacation, sick and personal time off, 15 paid holidays per year, and significant contributions to 401K plan.
