Our Internship Program

We are seeking a Bridge Intern to join our Indianapolis, IN office. Our Internship Program, Explore, is designed for college students pursuing a degree in a STEM field and provides opportunities to learn what it's like to work in a professional environment and apply what's learned in class to real-world challenges.

Responsibilities

  • Apply standard engineering practices and techniques in specific situations, including planning, design, and production of engineering drawings.
  • Assist in conducting engineering investigations and planning work by completing well-defined tasks, such as data collection and analysis, and performance of routine calculations.
  • Prepare assigned sections of reports under close review of a more experienced professional.
  • Perform data acquisition and analysis, researching the feasibility of alternative design approaches, site conditions, and/or regulatory agency specifications or regulations.
  • Perform engineering calculations and field observations of construction where appropriate.
  • Coordinate work with other engineers and professionals within and outside own discipline, and with support services staff.

Qualifications

  • Must have completed 60 hours towards a civil engineering degree from an ABET accredited program by the start of the internship (Summer 2025).
  • No experience is generally required if accepted into an Associate's or Bachelor's degree program in a related technical field.
  • Basic computer skills required to enter data into spreadsheets or databases, math skills to perform simple calculations, and willingness to learn.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience with AutoCAD or MicroStation (preferred).
