Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Bridge Civil Engineering Intern to join our Indianapolis, IN office. As a member of our team, you will have the opportunity to work on a variety of projects, including bridge design, construction, and maintenance.

Responsibilities
  • Apply standard engineering practices and techniques in specific situations, including planning, design, and production of engineering drawings.
  • Assist in conducting engineering investigations and planning work by completing well-defined tasks, such as data collection and analysis, and participation in evaluating the feasibility of alternate solutions.
  • Prepare assigned sections of reports under the close review of a more experienced professional.
  • Perform data acquisition and analysis, researching the feasibility of alternative design approaches, site conditions, and/or regulatory agency specifications or regulations.
  • Perform engineering calculations and field observations of construction where appropriate.
  • Coordinate work with other engineers and professionals within and outside own discipline, and with support services staff.
Qualifications
  • Must have completed 60 hours towards a civil engineering degree from an ABET accredited program by the start of the internship (Summer 2025).
  • No experience is generally required if accepted into an Associate's or Bachelor's degree program in a related technical field.
  • Basic computer skills required to enter data into spreadsheets or databases. Math skills to perform simple calculations; willingness to learn. Proficiency in Microsoft Office. Experience with AutoCAD or MicroStation (preferred).
