- Maintain current CPR certification and fulfill additional duties as assigned.
- Provide age-appropriate care tailored to individual patient needs.
- Foster a positive and supportive work environment for colleagues and students.
- Act as a professional role model and mentor within the team.
- Serve as a liaison among physicians, patients, families, and staff.
- Support fiscal responsibility in managing resources.
- Engage in performance improvement initiatives to enhance care quality.
- Document patient care accurately in accordance with departmental guidelines.
- Promote shared governance and evidence-based practices.
- Function independently across various surgical specialties.
- Maintain required continuing education hours annually.

Educational Requirements: A Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from an accredited institution is mandatory.
Licensure and Certifications: All necessary certifications must be obtained upon hire, including:
- Registered Nurse (Single State) or RN - Multi-state Compact
- Basic Life Support (BLS) - Instructor
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) - Instructor or Provisional
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) - Preferred or Provisional
Experience Requirements: A minimum of one year of experience in Cardiovascular Operating Room settings is essential, with preference given to candidates with extensive cardiovascular specialty experience.
Essential Skills: Candidates must possess a thorough understanding of current trends and techniques in cardiovascular surgery, strong critical thinking abilities, and effective communication skills. The ability to prioritize patient care in emergencies and demonstrate excellent organizational capabilities is crucial. Flexibility in scheduling and availability for emergency call coverage is required.
