Key Responsibilities
  • Crime Prevention and Response: Perform crime prevention and response duties, including patrolling campus facilities, investigating incidents, and providing support to students and staff.
  • Law Enforcement Operations: Conduct inspections of assigned campus facilities, respond to emergency situations, and maintain proficiency in law enforcement vehicles, equipment, and weapons.
  • Reporting and Documentation: Generate reports and documentation related to incidents, crimes, and other security-related matters.
  • Special Events Security: Provide security services for special events, including concerts, festivals, and other campus activities.
  • Time Management and Detail-Oriented: Possess exceptional time management and detail-orientation skills to effectively manage multiple tasks and responsibilities.
Requirements
  • Education: A high school diploma or GED equivalency is required.
  • Certification: Current and valid Basic Peace Officer certification from TCOLE is required.
  • Experience: A minimum of one (1) year full-time employment experience in law enforcement is required.
  • Skills: Proficiency in grammar, spelling, and report-writing, as well as proficiency in law enforcement equipment, vehicle, and weapons.
  • License: Must possess a valid Texas driver's license and be insurable by UMHB auto insurance carrier.
