Role Overview:

Salem Health is seeking a skilled Obstetrician to become a vital member of our established hospital-based OB Hospitalist team.

Our OB Hospitalist team operates on both 12 and 24-hour shifts, ensuring continuous coverage and playing a crucial role in maintaining our unit's culture, which emphasizes perinatal safety with approximately 3400 births annually at Salem Health. Key responsibilities encompass attending deliveries, managing OB triage for unassigned patients, supporting established practices with inpatient care, assisting in surgical procedures as required, providing backup to certified nurse midwives and family medicine practitioners, taking charge of unassigned patients, and overseeing hospital transfers.

Salem Hospital is equipped with 24-hour in-house anesthesia coverage, consultative maternal-fetal medicine services, a high-risk antepartum unit, and a Level III NICU.

Qualifications:

  • Doctor of Medicine degree
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a board-certified or board-eligible OBGYN Physician or completion of a Maternal Fetal Medicine fellowship program.
  • Current, unrestricted medical license to practice in Oregon
  • Board Certification in Obstetrics from the American Board of Obstetrics & Gynecology or the American Osteopathic Board of Obstetrics & Gynecology.
  • Non-Board Certified applicants must achieve board certification within five years of completing their Residency and/or Fellowship program for the privileges being sought at Salem Hospital. Ongoing maintenance of board certification is required to retain privileges.
  • Proven experience and current competency, including performing at least 50 deliveries in the past 24 months.
