Nurse Care Specialist

Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join our team at Eastgate Nursing & Rehabilitation Center. As a Registered Nurse, you will be responsible for providing direct nursing care to our residents and supervising the day-to-day nursing activities performed by nursing assistants.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform nursing assessments and collaborate with the nursing team, other disciplines, patients, and families to develop effective plans of care.
- Direct the day-to-day functions of the nursing assistants in accordance with current rules, regulations, and guidelines that govern the long-term care facility.
- Prepare and administer medications as ordered by the physician.
- Order prescribed medications, supplies, and equipment as necessary, and in accordance with established policies.
- Admit, transfer, and discharge residents as required.
- Complete accident/incident reports as necessary.
- Meet with residents, and/or family members, as necessary. Report problem areas to the Nurse Supervisor.
Requirements
- Must possess a current, unencumbered, active license in Rhode Island to practice as an RN or LPN in this state.
- Must demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age-related needs of the residents served.
- Must be a supportive team member, contribute to and be an example of team work and team concept.
