Job Overview

As a Neurodiagnostic EEG Specialist, you will play a crucial role in the assessment and monitoring of neurological conditions. Your expertise will contribute significantly to the quality of care provided to patients experiencing epilepsy and other neurological disorders.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct EEG Assessments: Execute routine, extended, and ambulatory EEGs, including Video EEGs and related diagnostic evaluations.
  • Patient Engagement: Effectively communicate the testing processes to patients and their families, ensuring understanding through age-appropriate explanations.
  • Patient History Collection: Diligently gather and document relevant patient history prior to the EEG procedures.
  • Preparation for Studies: Ready patients for EEG studies by organizing necessary documentation, setting up the examination area, and confirming that all equipment is operational.
  • Electrode Placement: Apply electrodes according to the International 10-20 system to ensure accurate EEG recordings.
  • Management of EEG Studies: Oversee the EEG study, maintaining thorough documentation, continuous observation of the patient, and troubleshooting any equipment or physiological issues. Differentiate between normal and abnormal results, utilizing available resources as necessary.
  • Post-Procedure Protocols: Implement proper cleaning and sanitization procedures for the patient, examination area, and equipment following each study.
  • Infection Control Compliance: Strictly adhere to established infection control measures.
Qualifications:
  • Driving Record: Must possess a clean driving record.
  • Travel Flexibility: Willingness to travel to various locations as required.
  • Experience: A minimum of 2 years of experience in the field of EEG.
  • Educational Background: Graduation from an accredited Electroneurodiagnostic (END) program or an associate degree in a health-related discipline is preferred.
  • Certification: Current or pending EEG certification is preferred; ABRET certification is also advantageous.
