Job Responsibilities:
- Perform EEG Procedures: Conduct routine, extended, and ambulatory EEGs, as well as Video EEGs and related studies.
- Patient and Family Interaction: Clearly explain the testing procedures for all neurodiagnostic studies to patients and their families, using age-appropriate guidelines.
- History Documentation: Accurately take and document pertinent patient history before the procedure.
- Study Preparation: Prepare patients for the study, including organizing paperwork, setting up the room, and ensuring all equipment is ready.
- Electrode Application: Apply electrodes using the International 10-20 measurement system for EEG recording.
- Study Management: Run the EEG study with precise documentation, continuous patient observation, and troubleshooting of equipment and physiological artifacts. Distinguish between normal and abnormal findings, utilizing appropriate resources as needed.
- Post-Study Procedures: Follow proper cleaning protocols for the patient, room, setup area, and equipment after each study.
- Infection Control: Adhere strictly to infection control practices.
Requirements:
- Clean Driving Record: Must maintain a clean driving record.
- Willingness to Travel: Ability to travel to various locations within the Bethesda, MD, and Virginia areas, including offices and hospitals.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in EEG.
- Education: Graduation from an accredited END program or an associate degree in a health-related field is preferred.
- Certification: Current or pending EEG certification is preferred; ABRET certification is also preferred.
