Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Interventional Radiology Technologist to join our team at Kaiser Permanente. As a key member of our radiology department, you will be responsible for performing routine and highly specialized diagnostic and therapeutic interventional radiology procedures on patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate extremely technical imaging equipment and apply ionizing radiation to patients in accordance with standard operating procedures.
  • Position patients according to departmental procedures and provide for their comfort during procedures.
  • Perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, utilizing image-guided surgical procedures, sterile technique, and radiographic technique.
  • Operate laser imagers, radiographic/fluoroscopic equipment, and image processors to obtain radiographic images.
  • Assist physicians with specialized diagnostic and interventional procedures by handling equipment, preparing procedure and instrument trays, and prepping and explaining procedures to patients.
  • Monitor patient condition throughout procedures and respond effectively to patient care emergencies.
  • Use EKG equipment, intravenous pumps, blood pressure equipment, pulse oximeter, and related routine equipment to maintain continuous patient care.
  • Prepare radiopaque materials for administration by radiologists and maintain a sterile field by using sterile technique.
  • Troubleshoot technical and mechanical problems and perform minor maintenance on equipment.
  • Record and accumulate patient statistics in daily logbooks and enter data into the Radiology Information (RIS) and supply inventory systems.
Requirements
  • Recent (within the last 12 months) minimum three years experience as a Radiologic Technologist, including one year recent experience in Interventional Radiology (IR).
  • Graduation from an accredited, ARRT eligible educational program in Radiologic Technology.
  • American Registry of Radiologic Technologists Certificate - Vascular Interventional Radiography, Cardiac Interventional Radiography, or Cardiovascular Interventional Radiography.
  • Radiologic Technologist Certificate (California) and Certified Radiologic Technologist - Fluoroscopy Certificate (California).
  • Basic Life Support certification.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Preferred daily scrubbing experience.
