Nutrition Program Coordinator

Cornell Cooperative Extension is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Nutrition Program Coordinator to join our team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality nutrition education programs to diverse audiences, working closely with community leaders, and collaborating with Cornell University faculty and staff.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop and implement nutrition education programs for diverse audiences, including children, adults, and seniors.
- Collaborate with community leaders, Cornell University faculty, and staff to design and deliver programs that meet the needs of our community.
- Provide nutrition education and counseling to individuals and groups, using a variety of methods, including direct teaching, group experiences, media, and electronic technology.
- Represent Cornell Cooperative Extension in a professional manner, fostering acceptance of our programs, methods, and policies to address community and individual needs.
- Interact with program participants, Association staff, program committees, county/community leaders, and other key stakeholders to collect evaluation data for improving programs.
- Recommend program changes to strengthen and improve programs, communicate evaluation results and findings, and meet the evaluation and reporting requirements of all funding partners.
- Bachelor's Degree in education, nutrition, agriculture, or human services, or Associate Degree with 2 years of transferable program/functional experience.
- Relevant field experience in Cooperative Extension, Information Management, Adult Education, Communications, or a closely related field.
- Ability to meet travel requirements associated with this position, ability to meet acceptable background check standards, and ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
- Ability to clearly communicate (speak, read, and write proficiently) in English, ability to work with diverse audiences, and maintain cultural sensitivity.
- Ability to relate effectively to co-workers, advisors, community, and professional leaders, demonstrated ability to plan, teach, and evaluate informal educational programs.
- Ability to communicate effectively, clearly, and tactfully through verbal, written, and electronic methods, ability to work with a high degree of integrity, accuracy, organization, sound professional judgment, and the ability to handle confidential, sensitive information.
- Ability to work independently, organize workload, handle administrative detail, work under pressure, and establish priorities according to Association requirements.
- Ability to organize, manage, and prioritize multiple tasks, deadlines, requirements, and priorities to complete work in a timely manner and within established deadlines.
- Proficiency with windows-based software, including use of the internet and Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Publisher, and Excel.
- Coursework in areas of education, nutrition, human services, or agriculture.
- Three years of relevant experience, knowledge, and experience in similar programming.
- Experience in guiding and collaborating with volunteers, ability to identify and develop volunteer leadership.
- Ability to effectively participate in professional team efforts, ability to communicate effectively through verbal, written, and visual channels using traditional methods and educational tools, as well as electronic technology.
- Ability to identify and utilize program resources from the organization and the community.
This is a part-time position, working 20 hours per week, based from the Albion, NY office. Remote work is not available. The position requires the ability to work in a typical office environment, which may include lifting, moving, and/or transporting office supplies, work-related materials, and equipment with or without accommodation.
