About the Role:

We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Substance Abuse Counselor to join our team at BayMark Health Services. As a Substance Abuse Counselor, you will play a vital role in guiding patients through their treatment process, providing evidence-based medically-assisted treatment programs, and leading individual and group sessions to support crisis management, coping strategies, and recovery.

Responsibilities:
  • Conduct individual assessments and interviews to evaluate service eligibility.
  • Establish and review personalized treatment plans for each patient.
  • Complete bio-psychosocial assessments to better understand patient needs.
  • Provide regular individual and group counseling services.
  • Involving families and significant others in the patients recovery process when possible.
  • Address patient concerns and grievances in a compassionate and timely manner.
  • Develop aftercare and discharge plans to ensure continuity of care.
  • Assist with additional responsibilities as determined by your supervisor.
Requirements:

We are looking for a candidate with a Bachelors Degree and 3+ years of individual counseling experience, or a Masters Degree in Behavioral Science with at least 2 years of experience. Experience working with chemically dependent individuals or those battling substance use disorders is highly valued. A non-judgmental, accepting, and positive approach to patient care is essential.
