Position Overview

The individual in this role will be responsible for managing financial records and ensuring compliance with established standards. This includes providing essential accounting information for management, such as profit and loss statements, general ledgers, and financial transactions. The selected candidate will employ accounting methodologies and standard practices to classify, document, and report on financial activities. While receiving guidance from their supervisor and other accounting experts, the accountant will also address straightforward financial challenges and evaluate potential solutions using established accounting policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage Accounts Payable processes, including the entry and payment of invoices through various methods such as wires, checks, and ACH.
  • Conduct daily bank reconciliations to ensure timely transaction recording.
  • Document daily journal entries and manage recurring monthly entries.
  • Process timesheets for non-exempt personnel and prepare bi-weekly journal entries for business units, including month-end accrual calculations.
  • Oversee fixed asset accounting and other general accounting tasks.
  • Prepare monthly reconciliations for balance sheet accounts.
  • Handle expense report processing and related financial accounting.
  • Ensure adherence to all company policies and financial reporting standards, as well as internal controls.
  • Analyze accounts to identify and understand fluctuations.
  • Address and resolve inquiries regarding accounts with management.
  • Provide timely reporting during the month-end closing process.
  • Perform any additional duties as assigned that align with the role's scope and the individual's skills and experience.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • A minimum of one year of relevant professional experience.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy is essential.
  • Self-motivated and proactive.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and Access, as well as ERP systems.

  • Occasional lifting or moving of items up to 25 pounds may be required.
