Key Responsibilities:
- Delegate tasks and supervise work output while minimizing overtime and downtime.
- Guide, mentor, and evaluate the performance of team members.
- Provide training and support to maintenance and custodial staff.
- Ensure adherence to all safety protocols, regulations, and company policies.
- Assist in maintaining the preventive maintenance schedule for relevant equipment.
- Promote effective safety and housekeeping practices, coordinating custodial efforts as necessary.
- Oversee the preventive maintenance program to meet industry standards and ensure the reliability of plant machinery.
- Perform a variety of tasks to install and maintain production machinery and facility equipment.
- Analyze maintenance data to recommend improvements and preventive measures.
- Communicate effectively with production management to ensure timely repairs and follow-up actions.
- Scope projects, obtain, and assess contractor quotations.
- Advise management on equipment replacement needs and facility concerns.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation.
- Propose cost-reduction strategies and minimize production downtime.
- Collaborate with Production, Engineering, Quality, and other leadership teams as needed.
- Participate in the plant safety committee.
- Promote good housekeeping practices and lead organizational initiatives.
- Contribute as an active member of project teams as required.
- Support internal and external quality audits.
- Perform additional duties as necessary.
Qualifications:
- Preferred: Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in maintenance and equipment troubleshooting.
- Experience in controlled environments is a plus.
- A valid driver's license is required.
- Supervisory experience: 2-30 hourly/non-exempt employees.
Skills and Competencies:
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team.
- Proficient in leading and training others.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Ability to prioritize and schedule tasks based on business needs.
- Willingness to support weekend or shutdown facility events.
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements related to plant equipment maintenance is preferred.
Working Conditions:
To excel in this role, candidates must be capable of performing essential duties satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made for individuals with disabilities. The position requires the ability to work at heights (e.g., ladders, rooftops) and lift up to 50 lbs. regularly.
