About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Solar Technician to join our team at ENGIE North America Inc. as a key member of our Solidago Solar Site team in Townsend, DE.

Key Responsibilities
  • Access and manage tasks via SCADA, Maximo, and SAP software systems to repair, troubleshoot, and fulfill technical work orders for solar panels.
  • Manage documentation, update parts inventory, and submit on-site status reports, including daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports.
  • Initiate work orders for equipment repairs and coordinate high voltage switching activities with local utilities and independent system operators (ISO).
  • Adhere to safety protocols, including conducting Site-Specific Orientations, Job Safety Analysis (JSA), and safety meetings.
  • Work independently on-site, with nearby support from a team comprising a site manager, a Balance of Plant technician, and the solar technician.
  • Participate in an on-call rotation for outages and emergencies, requiring residence within 50 miles of the site.
Requirements
  • Minimum two (2) years of experience in solar generation sites, wind generation sites, manufacturing or mining operations, or controls and industrial maintenance.
  • AC/DC electrical theory knowledge, ability to read blueprints and schematics, and experience with industrial electrical equipment.
  • Must have or be willing to obtain certification as a substation technician within 12 months of hire date.
  • Capacity to be on call as deemed necessary by supervisor.
Additional Details
  • This is a field position requiring daily travel to client sites.
  • Must be available to travel domestically to other solar plants for emergencies and assist with outages.
  • Must possess a valid U.S. driver's license and clean driving record to drive a company vehicle.
  • Must be willing and able to comply with ENGIE's policy regarding COVID vaccination and testing.
  • Must be willing and able to comply with all ENGIE ethics and safety policies.
  • The position consists of 30% work indoors and 70% work outdoors, exposing the employee to various weather conditions.
Compensation

The salary range for this position is $53.74 USD hourly, representing the average expected pay range for a qualified candidate. Actual offered salary may depend on geography, experience, industry knowledge, education, internal pay alignment, or other bona fide factors.

This position is eligible for a competitive bonus/incentive plan and emergency or on-call pay. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, life insurance, employer-paid short-term and long-term disability insurance, ESPP, generous paid time off, holidays, and leave programs, as well as a 401(k) Retirement Savings Plan with a company match.
