Job Title: Automation Controls Engineer

At Tesla, we're looking for a highly skilled Automation Controls Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our manufacturing team, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining automated equipment controls solutions for our cell manufacturing projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop control systems for automated equipment, including PLC programming, HMI development, and SCADA integration.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of automation systems with manufacturing processes.
  • Develop and maintain electrical and fluid schematics using CAD software.
  • Participate in equipment conceptual development, balancing product specifications, process requirements, layout complexity, cost, and lead-time limits.
  • Manage suppliers during specification, design, buyoff, and installation of automated manufacturing equipment.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Mechatronics Engineering, Computer Science, or 5+ years' experience in Control Systems Design and Implementation.
  • Proficiency in PLC programming (Siemens, Beckhoff, or B&R preferred).
  • Human Machine Interface (HMI / GUI) development skills (Beckhoff View, WinCC, Ignition).
  • Experience with CAD software (EPLAN preferred).
  • Structured Text (IEC programming skills).
