Cashiers play a vital role in the retail environment by managing register operations, delivering exceptional customer service, and supporting sales floor activities. This position assists in the overall management of store operations through the execution of designated responsibilities. Opportunities for part-time roles may be available. Goodwill Industries of the Inland Northwest continuously welcomes applications for this position to ensure a robust applicant pool. A background check is required for all candidates.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver exemplary customer service to enhance the shopping experience.
  • Adhere to the directives, policies, and standards set forth by Goodwill Industries of the Inland Northwest.
  • Execute opening duties, which include cleaning display cases, tidying counters, organizing the cashier area, and replenishing supplies.
  • Conduct closing procedures, ensuring accurate cash handling, completing necessary paperwork, and securing financial deposits.
  • Assist in merchandise management by pulling and stocking items as instructed.
  • Process customer transactions, including cash, check, or credit payments, and provide accurate change.
  • Issue cash receipts to customers for their purchases.
  • Operate the POS system efficiently and accurately, maintaining accountability for any discrepancies.
  • Package customer purchases appropriately.
  • Support customer service efforts at other workstations as needed.
  • Manage clothing returns from fitting rooms and ensure items are properly hung.
  • Transfer merchandise from the sales floor to the storage area as required.
  • Answer phone inquiries and provide information as necessary.
  • Perform additional stocking duties as assigned.
  • Represent the organization through outstanding customer service.
  • Meet recovery and merchandising standards as outlined.
  • Complete required Cashier Training successfully.
  • Undertake other related responsibilities as assigned.
