Position Summary

The Los Rios Community College District is seeking qualified candidates for a part-time, temporary (adjunct) faculty position in Dental Assisting. This is an ongoing recruitment, and applicants are contacted and hired year-round based on college needs.


Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching assigned classes under the supervision of the area dean, helping students master course content, assessing student learning outcomes, and maintaining a thorough knowledge of their teaching field. Additionally, they will be expected to continue professional development, utilize current technology, and adhere to professional conduct and ethics.


Typical Duties

The instructional assignment may encompass teaching courses across all levels in Dental Assisting. Specific courses offered may vary by campus, and may include Introduction to Dental Assisting, Bio-Dental Science, and Dental Radiology.


Minimum Qualifications
  1. Have a bachelor's degree or higher AND two years of professional experience directly related to the assignment; OR have an associate degree AND six years of professional experience directly related to the assignment; OR the equivalent.
  2. Must have a Certified Dental Assistant license.
  3. Must have a Registered Dental Assistant License.
  4. Must have current CPR certification.
  5. Have an equity-minded focus, responsiveness, and sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, gender identity, sexual orientation, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students.
