Job Summary

Ascension Saint Thomas Rehabilitation Hospital is a 40-bed inpatient rehabilitation hospital operated jointly between Ascension Saint Thomas and Lifepoint Health. We are seeking an enthusiastic individual to join our team as an Occupational Therapist.

Job Responsibilities
  • Assume responsibility and accountability for the care of patients being treated by Certified Occupational Therapist Assistants, rehabilitation technicians, and occupational therapy students.
  • Assess patients' needs, identify and initiate appropriate occupational therapy interventions, and work cooperatively with other patient team personnel in maintaining standards for professional occupational therapy practice and interdisciplinary teamwork.
  • Observe and evaluate treatment affect, accomplishment of short and long-term goals, and recommend changes to the physician as needed.
  • Perform an appropriate assessment on each patient, perform reassessments as per policy, and perform accurate and timely QI scoring.
  • Able to assess patient pain interfering with optimal level of function or participation in rehabilitation, make appropriate interventions to reduce pain, and make appropriate physician contact for intervention.
  • Perform all aspects of patient care in an environment that optimizes patient safety and reduces the likelihood of medical/health care errors.
Qualifications
  • Current licensure as an Occupational Therapist in the state where the hospital is located.
  • Previous experience in all aspects of occupational therapy preferred, but not required.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills in English, with additional languages preferred.
  • Current CPR/BLS certification.
