The Clinical Dietitian at Tanner Medical Center collaborates with a diverse healthcare team to deliver patient-centered nutritional care that aligns with medical objectives.
Key responsibilities encompass the utilization of the Nutrition Care Process (NCP), which includes conducting thorough nutrition assessments, identifying nutrition diagnoses, formulating and executing nutrition interventions, and tracking and assessing patient outcomes.
This role employs the Scope of Dietetics Practice Framework (SODPF) to define the professional scope, adhering to established Standards of Practice and Professional Performance (SOP/SOPP) in nutrition care. Additionally, evidence-based protocols and guidelines are utilized to inform nutrition interventions.
The Clinical Dietitian is also tasked with managing resources efficiently and engaging in compliance and quality improvement initiatives to guarantee safe and effective nutrition care.
As a vital member of the multidisciplinary team, the Clinical Dietitian participates in team meetings, delivers educational sessions on food and nutrition, and contributes to the formulation and updates of hospital policies.
Moreover, involvement in community nutrition initiatives is encouraged, along with maintaining the necessary professional competencies and skills for effective practice.
Educational Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Nutrition or related field
Licenses and Certifications
*Licensed Dietitian
*Registered Dietitian
Essential Qualifications
*Proficient in applying mathematical concepts such as fractions, percentages, and ratios to real-world scenarios.
*Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with patients, healthcare providers, and colleagues.
*Competence in statistical analysis and probability.
*Ability to compose professional correspondence, summaries, and reports.
*Completion of a Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution.
*Successful completion of 900 hours of supervised practice through an accredited CDR program.
*Registration with the Commission on Dietetic Registration of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics and maintenance of Licensed Dietitian status throughout employment.
