Our advanced facility in Jacksonville features 34 operating rooms, including specialized suites for IMRI and endovascular procedures.

We utilize cutting-edge technology and equipment to create a setting that harmonizes the art of healing with medical science.


The Nurse Supervisor in this role is accountable for overseeing patient care, operational efficiency, and staff development within their designated specialty area.

This position promotes excellence aligned with departmental and organizational objectives. The responsibilities encompass 24-hour clinical oversight for assigned areas.

The Nurse Supervisor fosters a professional atmosphere that enhances the delivery of quality patient care and advocates for the safety of both patients and staff.

This role necessitates collaboration with various Mayo services to improve patient care and ensure appropriate treatment for the served population.

The individual must exhibit knowledge of growth and development principles across the lifespan.

Skills in assessing data reflective of patient status and accurately interpreting information related to specific patient needs are essential.

The Nurse Supervisor supports leadership through activities such as staff development, education, and community engagement. This role may also involve recruiting staff, managing unit staffing, and participating in committees and research initiatives. The individual supervises nursing practices within a hospital-based program/unit and is responsible for staff performance evaluations.

Qualifications

  • Graduation from a baccalaureate nursing program; a Master's degree is preferred.
  • A minimum of 2 years of nursing experience or progressive leadership experience is required.
  • Proven leadership skills and effective interpersonal abilities are essential.
  • Strong communication, critical thinking, problem-solving, and computer skills are necessary.

Licensure and Certification:

  • Current RN license as per state regulations.
  • Maintains Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Additional state licenses and/or specialty certifications as required by the work area.
