Vactor Operator Job Description:

As a Vactor Operator with Atlantic Heating & Cooling Service, you will be responsible for operating vacuum trucks and equipment to perform various tasks in the underground construction industry. This role requires the ability to perform routine manual and semi-skilled work, as well as operate complex equipment safely and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate vacuum trucks and equipment to perform tasks such as vacuum excavation, wastewater treatment, and material transportation.
  • Inspect and maintain equipment to ensure proper functioning and safety.
  • Plan and execute routes to meet delivery schedules and ensure timely completion of tasks.
  • Document and log work periods, including hours worked and tasks completed.
  • Comply with company policies, procedures, and regulations, as well as industry standards and safety protocols.
  • Collaborate with other team members to achieve project goals and objectives.
  • Perform general maintenance and repairs on equipment as needed.
  • Ensure a safe and healthy work environment by following all safety protocols and procedures.


Requirements:

  • Valid CDL-A with tanker endorsement.
  • Ability to operate a manual transmission vehicle.
  • Extensive knowledge of applicable truck driving rules and regulations.
  • Valid truck driving license.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and communicate effectively with colleagues.
  • Excellent reading skills to understand and comprehend all construction warning signs.
  • Ability to work in a high-stress environment with extreme weather fluctuations.
