Job Title: Field Technician - Signals

We are seeking a skilled Field Technician - Signals to join our team at SWARCO McCain. As a member of our family, you will be responsible for providing technical support at new and existing traffic signal installations and performing modifications to existing traffic signals in the greater Los Angeles area.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform fieldwork with use of independent judgment, including programming and configuring equipment at new installations and modifying existing traffic signal cabinets.
  • Repair or replace malfunctioning equipment, operate aerial equipment, and interact with internal and external customers.
  • Provide one-on-one and group technical training, and support software and hardware migration.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or GED, with some college or recognized trade school in electrical field preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of field experience in related industry, with ability to handle multiple tasks and maintain high level of professionalism.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Computer literacy and working knowledge of MS Office Suite, with mechanical aptitude and ability to use hand tools.
Physical Conditions / Requirements:
  • Physical requirements include some heavy lifting up to 50 lbs, with frequent driving, sitting, handling objects with hands, climbing, standing, walking, bending, reaching, talking, and hearing.
  • Occasional exposure to demands and pressures from persons other than immediate supervisor, with ability to visually see information in print and/or electronically and hear people over the telephone and in person.
